INDUSTRIAL UREA (TECHNICAL)
Industrial or technical Urea appears as an odorless solid at room temperature, in white granules. It is a highly hygroscopic product, soluble in water, alcohol and benzene and practically insoluble in ether and chloroform.
Industrial or technical urea is used in the manufacture of melanin, synthetic resins, various plastics, waterproofing agents, etc. In addition to being used in the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetics industries.
Other industrial applications: urea for metal treatment, tanneries, water treatment (as a source of nitrogen) and the construction and civil engineering industry (as an insulation binder).
